Built-Up Roofing (BUR) systems—whether ballasted, unballasted, or surfaced with embedded aggregate—have long presented a restoration challenge. For decades, once deterioration began, the only accepted solution was full tear-off and replacement. Embedded ballast made coating unreliable, leaving property owners facing major capital expense.
